Advent Begins

Continuing my run of non-running posts (yes, that was deliberate), today is the first Sunday of Advent leading up the Christmas. It’s hard to believe the year went by so fast, with so many things happening, both good and bad. Hopefully, the holidays are a time to reflect and recharge, and realize why the holiday exists in the first place. Black Thursday Friday drove me nuts this year, with how overboard retail outlets went to win over shoppers, and the ridiculous lengths said shoppers went to get them (see articles about people camping out and missing Thanksgiving family time to score what did not appear to be all that great deals this year).

We did manage to decorate the house amidst all the unpacking. A new LED multi-color tree is up, and yes, there is a nice G-scale train underneath. A few other decorations are out. I hopefully will get around to putting the mega-tree up outside, but for now, a couple of colored spotlights will have to do.
