Starting From Scratch

Settling back in to the normal nightly routine after returning from a 2-day round trip to Nashville, TN to visit a data center as part of full-time job. I didn’t have a chance to take in the Nashville nightlife, but definitely enjoying the simple (and FAST) process of getting through the airport. Definitely a lot easier than Philadelphia International! I only wish the people that manage Lehigh Valley International Airport could get it together and encourage airlines to come back. We have a hidden gem of an airport that is severely underutilized.

Aside from the trip, I managed to eat a lot more than I should have yesterday. After the normal work part of the day, dinner and some drinks, I decided to take advantage of some evening free time and go for a nice mile long walk around the area. Not much to see except for some strip malls. After I got back to the hotel, I figured why not hit the gym on top of it. Ran a 5K on the treadmill, finishing in 36 minutes even. Not my best time by any means, but this is the first time I’ve worked out since the half marathon, and with another one coming up in February, it was time to get back into the routine. Add in some weight training and core/ab work, and I called it a night.

Woke up this morning, and paid the price for the workout. Thankfully, there was a massage center at the Nashville Airport, and I took advantage of a discount offer to get a 15 minutes back massage to loosen things up. I’m planning to rest today, then hopefully get another short run in tomorrow before the next 2-day round trip data center visit to Phoenix, AZ on Thursday!
