A Picture’s Worth…

I’m sitting here typing away after a whirlwind business trip that included a bit of fun stuff as well (more pictures to come). Left Sarasota with what I thought was plenty of time (4 hours) to catch my flight out of Tampa, only to get stuck over the Skyway Bridge, and then find out the closest gas station to the airport was closed. Dropped the rental car off, get a call from home that the poor dog is sick (lovely), then catch my flight home (thankfully uneventful). Of course, nothing else could complete my trip more than Northeast Extension traffic jams on the way home, and then realizing I left my digital camera in the rental car!!! Made a few calls back to the rental company, filed a lost and found report… we’ll see what happens.

One of the more positive points of my trip was a visit to Siesta Key Beach, voted one of the best in the US. I had spent most of yesterday at the office, didn’t end up leaving until after 7pm, grabbed a quick dinner at a place called Gecko’s, and then decided to head down the road to visit Siesta Key. It had just rained, so the 99% quartz sand that is supposed to be like powder, was more like concrete, but once I got down to the water, the warm gulf currents with a temperature of around 80 degrees made it all worthwhile. The views were gorgeous. Got to spend some time walking along knee-deep surf, and enjoying the tranquil scene. If my camera ends up being found, I’ll have more pictures to post, including one of a complete rainbow taken the day prior at Disney World.
