2015 Year in Review and Resolutions

Much like I did in 2014, a year into this “running” journey, I figured it would make sense to look back on the previous year. In 2015, I ran a total of 436.85 miles which is actually DOWN from 2014’s total of 544.68. 2015 was the year I conquered the marathon distance for the first time (Goofy 2015) and a 2nd marathon (Richmond) along with a couple of half marathons and assorted shorter races. This was also a year in which I had an injury bug of sorts, with cramping problems for the April halfs, and then blowing my ankle out shortly thereafter. The total rehab took me through the end of June.

Overall, it was a successful year, given that I was able to complete two marathons, even if Richmond did nearly kill me twice. Looking ahead to this year, I need to focus on core strength, improving my running efficiency, and ideally, translating that all into an overall faster pace. I’m going to try to tackle at least 1 mile per day. With Goofy 2016 coming up (half + full back-to-back), recovering from that may require a rest day, but I think I can keep up this for most of the year. Also looking into Runner’s World IronStrength workout to help with core stability and strength.

Stay tuned for updates throughout Year 3 of this crazy running thing…
