As of August 2nd, 2002, I finally conquered my fear of roller coasters. I used to limit myself to the little wild mouse types or the tiny mine train ones, but I finally rode my first real bona-fide coaster (and 5 times to bat). Technically, my first true coaster ride occurred during July of 1999, when my girlfriend at the time drug me on Skull Mountain at Six Flags Great Adventure. However, since I still did not like coasters, and really didn’t enjoy that ride, I choose not to count that in my overall totals. Here then, is the list starting with the infamous Lightning Racer ride at Hershey Park from 08/02/02. (Yes, I did ride the Wild Mouse and the Trailblazer there in years past, but again I didn’t consider those thrilling enough to be considered my first “official” coaster. I guess you could also count Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which I had been on a few times during a March 2000 Walt Disney World trip, but alas, it’s my list!)
