This whole Daylight Savings Time (DST) switch where we “fall back” an hour really messed with my internal clock. The kids stayed up late last night, didn’t sleep in this morning, and it got dark really early today. While I’m kinda bummed about the darker evenings, this is sort of the unofficial lead-in to the holidays, and Christmas always puts me in a good mood. That, plus a really nice Eagles win (49-20 over the Raiders) takes the sting away from the time change.
I think I’m just about ready for the Wine & Dine half marathon next Saturday. No more running this week, rest and trying to relax the nerves. Still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I’m literally travelling 1,000 miles just to RUN 13.1 miles through the Disney parks. Insane? Perhaps… but me and the other 17,000+ runners will all be in the same figurative boat. Weather looks like to be comfortable, if a bit humid. Just trying to stay healthy, and enjoy some kid-free time with the wife.
For those of you following this blog, I’ll be updating with finishing times and some other goodies throughout race weekend! Stay tuned.
