Yesterday was one of those magical football Sundays. It started out with my Greater Lehigh Valley Athletics Under 6 Flag Football Ravens completing a home game shutout against the Steelers. These little kids were amazing on both sides of the ball, executing a wonderful game on the way to an unofficial 22-0 win! I am extremely proud of these kids for all the hard practices and games. Keep it up Ravens!
After a brief break in the afternoon, I headed down the PA Turnpike for my first trip to a Philadelphia Eagles game. Yes, you read that right. I’ve been a fan for the last decade, and this was my first in-person game experience. It took me about 1:15 to get from my house to the bridge near the stadium, and then another 2 HOURS to get a parking space! And I was stuck all the way back behind Citizen’s Bank Park (the Phillies Stadium) in Lot W!
I met up with some friends from a vendor I know through work – we met up at Xfinity Live – Bullies, had some wings, then headed over to the stadium. All I can say is what a night and what a game. The place was electric, and went nuts on the way to watching the Eagles blowout the Giants 27-0! It was the first time the Birds wore all black uniforms, and they brought it! Black Sunday! Blackout! Shutout!
I got home around 1:00 am with a nice new #9 Foles jersey, in all black of course. The whole night game thing isn’t something I’m going to do often, considering I am barely awake this morning. But free coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts, and a massive Eagles win last night should make this a great week!
Now if I could only get some running in…
