Running in Arizona

Last month during my trip to Arizona, I ended up not doing much in the way of exercising. This time around, I may a promise to myself that I would get out for at least a short run. It worked out that one of the people who joined by Goofy First Timer’s Facebook group lives near Chandler, AZ. We ended up meeting up at the Liberty Market, and taking a nice 4 mile half-walk/half-jog at 5:30am in the morning. Yes, you read that right!

I got up at 5:00am in the morning to run!

Well, technically it was 8am Eastern time, but still. We had a great time, even though it was 80 degrees already. I also really enjoyed the farther point of our trek, where we strolled through the Freestone District Park in Gilbert, AZ. A very nice, landscaped public park with a grassy areas, waterfalls, a carousel, and a kid’s train that loops around the park. It was a nice distraction from the work I was in AZ to do, and it was really cool meeting a fellow runDisney addict – hope you mind me calling you that Jen!

Yes, believe it or not, this really is in Arizona! It was beautiful! I will be making a return visit to this park on my next trip to the Southwest.
