Summer is Here

Temperatures crept up into the high 80’s today, with the forecast set for mid-90’s tomorrow. I thought 105 in Arizona last week was bad, but throw in the Northeast humidity, and it was borderline miserable. At around 9pm tonight, temps were hovering around 80, why not go for a run. This was my second training run using 2:1 run/walk intervals. I’m starting to get a feel for the interval training, and I think it’s working. While my overall pace was a lot slower tonight (probably due to the heat and humidity – and still being sore from a marathon lawn mowing experience yesterday), I finished the run feeling stronger than I usually do. I’ll have to continue this and hopefully implement it into future races.

On another note, the deck for my house is complete. Really shocked to see the construction company arrive by 6:30am, and by 3pm finish up. The deck looks great on the house, and we ended up having dinner on it tonight. This should be a great spot for a lot of summer evenings.
