August 30-31 in Anaheim, California, I am registered for the Dumbo Double Dare Challenge – 10K Saturday followed by the DisneyLand Half on Sunday. I’ve been training pretty consistently since the the two half marathons in Feb. and April. Yesterday, I went out and ran a 4-miler doing a pretty consistent interval pace. It was a mid-morning run, which is not something I usually do. Today, I figured why not try another 4-miler, this time in the evening. Consider it Dumbo Lite! What I thought would end up as a slower pace turned out to be slightly faster (about 20 seconds faster overall). Now the trick comes in building up to 6/13 back-to-back runs. I’ll take the 4/4 as a start. After Dumbo comes the Runner’s World Festival, with the Hat Trick on tap (3.1/6.2/13.1 in 2 days), and then the grand culmination in Orlando come January – Goofy! (13.1/26.1)

I still haven’t gotten over that feeling of not liking running. It sounds a little weird as I’ve kept up with it for over a year now. Back when I started this blog, I had every intention to look back from time to time and see how much progress I made. A year ago, if you said I would be running multiple halfs in a year, I would have laughed. This year, I’m eyeing up a half and a full in one weekend. Crazy – probably! But it’s one way to beat a mid-life crisis!
