The weeks in 2014 so far have been fraught with one stressful event after another. Just when I thought things settled down, and the craziness of illnesses/school functions/etc. gave me a breather, I end up hitting a pothole on the way from work last Thursday. Fast forward to today, and I’m now in a work-from-home mode until my car is fixed. This did give me the chance for a lunchtime run on the treadmill. Since I was feeling pretty good, why not get a speed session in. I actually surprised myself with a ~10:30 pace, which is one my fastest yet in a continuous run. I only did a mile, but it felt good… I may try doing a little longer run later this week and see how that goes.
Next race up is the Allentown St. Patrick’s 5K this Sunday, March 23. It’s a chance to run with a coworker, and two former coworkers that I haven’t seen in a while. Hopefully the weather warms up a bit so it’s comfortable for the run.
