I’ve been trying to take the distances easier this week, knowing that I have a 5K coming up this weekend, with slightly colder than normal temps (low 40’s) on a flat course, giving me a good shot at a PR. The treadmill has been my friend lately, as much as I hate running for a half an hour and literally going nowhere. The good news in all of this is that I’m finally realizing better conditioning and being able to push myself faster, down into the low 10’s for overall pace. The ultimate goal is still breaking the elusive 30 minute mark for a 5K… maybe it will come this Sunday, maybe not… plan is to not get hurt so I can function in the St. Luke’s Half on April 27. Since I missed it earlier this week, enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations!
